The Green Shirts avenged their defeat in the group stage by defeating India in another thriller. This time Pakistan mastered the run chase as they won the match by five wickets with one ball to spare.

Pakistan's next match against Afghanistan was even more thrilling as the men in green came from the jaws of defeat. Pakistan faced difficulties as they were bowled out for 9 runs chasing a low target of 130 runs as Afghanistan looked certain to win the match. Chasing 12 off the last over, Naseem Shah shocked the world as he scored back-to-back 2 maximums to help Pakistan win and qualify for the finals of the tournament.

Pakistan faced Sri Lanka in their next two matches, the first in a dead rubber in the Super 4 and the second in the final of the tournament. The Super 4s was won relatively easily by Sri Lanka as they bowled out Pakistan for 121 runs and achieved the target with the loss of five wickets.
